About us
Where neuroscience meets psychotherapy
Toronto Mental Health Clinic was founded on a simple conviction: that lasting psychological change requires understanding the brain, not just the behaviour. Our clinicians bring graduate-level neuroscience training into every treatment plan.

The brain and the body are not separate.
Psychological distress has measurable neurobiological correlates. Anxiety activates threat circuits. Depression down-regulates prefrontal function. Chronic pain rewires sensory processing. Any treatment that ignores this science is incomplete.
At TMHC, every clinician is trained not just in what to do, but in why it works — at the level of brain systems, nervous system regulation, and learning theory. This informs not only our choice of modality, but the pacing, sequencing, and personalization of treatment.
Our approach
Evidence-based and deeply individualized.
We use the treatments with the strongest evidence base — CBT, ACT, CBT-I for insomnia, EFT, exposure-based approaches — and we apply them with care for the individual in front of us. No two presentations are identical; no two treatment plans should be either.
We work across a wide range of presentations, including ADHD, anxiety, chronic pain, concussion recovery, depression, FND, insomnia, OCD, PTSD, and perinatal mental health — often in combination.
Our values
What guides every decision we make.
Scientific rigour
Every treatment we offer has a strong evidence base. We stay current with the research and update our practice accordingly.
Clinical compassion
Neuroscience and evidence matter, but so does the human relationship. We bring full presence and genuine care to every session.
Individualized care
Protocols are starting points, not endpoints. We adapt every approach to the specific person, history, and goals in front of us.
